NC Medical Marijuana Bill has taxes higher than CO’s adult use law

North Carolina’s HB 84 may have some of the highest taxes ever proposed for medical marijuana.  It has two layers of 10 percent tax:

“Each medical cannabis center licensed and operating under this section shall pay to the Department monthly fees equal to ten percent (10%) of the medical cannabis center’s gross revenue derived from the sale of cannabis and cannabis-infused products.”

“Each producer of medical cannabis or cannabis-infused products producer licensed and operating under this section shall pay to the Department monthly fees equal to ten percent (10%) of the producer’s gross revenue derived from the sale of cannabis and cannabis-infused products.”  http://www.ncleg.net/Sessions/2013/Bills/House/PDF/H84v0.pdf
